A WELL-RESPECTED MAN

a novel

by David Berner

https://www.davidwberner.com/new-work

Chicago Professor Martin Gregory takes refuge in the English countryside after his life falls into unmanageable disarray, but when a mystery woman arrives at his flat with an unexpected message and an implausible request, Martin's life is altered forever.

A cross-country train ride, a visit to his father's grave, and the courage to confront personal heartbreak combine to reveal the meaning behind the life we choose and the one thrust upon us.
